Quotes from Wally Lamb’s She’s Come Undone

I had a dream last night that I had to write a ten-page paper on recovery stories - about individuals who encountered a lot of opposition and yet they persevered. I haven't had such an enlightening dream in a long time, and I can still recall who/what I planned on writing about. One of the major focal points was on the main character of one of my favorite books, She's Come Undone. Although crude at times, I've read this entire book from front to back about ten times and I always put it down and feel the same way: completely inspired and hopeful. Sure, Dolores Price goes through the unthinkable throughout her life, but she's relatable, human, and I find those characters to be the most raw and engaging characters in existence.

I know that this post is quite different from the others that I generally post, but I feel so inspired and compelled to share a few tidbits from a book that I love. Feast your eyes (and heart).

And I'll end with a Dashboard Confessional lyric focused on burning any negative hold on the past and moving forward, because heaven is right here, right now, in the present:

"Let the fire surround us, let it all cave in, let it all burn wild.
We are leaving it all behind, we are leaving it all behind.
Heaven is here."
